Keep EmpCo claim evidence current
Last review: 3 October 2026.
Scheme owners use Label Registry to publish certificates and the environmental claims they market. This guide explains how to keep substantiation dates current before automated D-60 and D-30 reminders appear in your due queue. It is not legal advice.

1. Date every marketed claim
Each active claim on a certificate should link to at least one substantiation file with issuer, kind and a validUntil date when you know the document expiry.
On the certificate workspace page you add evidence per claim. Choose whether each file is public on the certificate page or kept private for your records only.
Glint publishes Label Registry. Recorded dates describe what you entered; they are not a statement that a claim meets national law.
2. Watch validUntil and renew early
Label Registry creates due items when claim evidence approaches expiry (D-60 and D-30 thresholds).
Open the evidence renewals board after you sign in as a scheme owner. The table lists every substantiation row for certificates you control, with days remaining and gap flags (expired, within 30 days, within 60 days, or missing validUntil).
Filter by scheme, renewal window or public vs private visibility. Download a UTF-8 CSV from the export link to share with your team.
Renew or replace files on the certificate claims editor before validUntil passes so public certificate pages stay accurate.
3. Germany and Austria consumer-facing notes
Where you market claims to consumers (B2C) in Germany or Austria, national transposition is verified on Label Registry for these countries only.
Germany (fact DE3) and Austria (fact AT3) blacklist certain sustainability labels in business-to-consumer situations when the label is not based on a certification scheme or not set by public authorities. Germany (fact DE2) defines certification scheme criteria that your published scheme self-check can reference.
Confirm how these rules apply to your claims and channels with your adviser. Other EU markets stay not verified until Label Registry documents a reviewed source.
4. Use the claims matrix with renewals
The claims matrix shows one row per certificate, active claim and target market with gap flags for missing or expiring evidence.
Use the matrix to see market coverage, then use the evidence renewals board to work file by file. Together they help you prioritise renewals before due alerts fire.
